Tamsen started working with clay doing a Foundation Art Course at Rugby College (now part of Warwickshire College). Having started the course to experiment with different media and check that her love of silk painting wouldn't be surpassed by another medium (it wasn't - quite!) she fell in love with clay. She now has her own workshop and kiln.
Working with clay, for Tamsen, takes the tactility of silk into three dimensions and taking inspiration from the flow of water and the beauty of nature she tries to capture some of that beauty in her art.
Tamsen likes to make both functional and simply beautiful ceramic works.
